As part of your pet’s annual exam, we conduct a thorough oral exam to assess their teeth, gums, tongue, and oral cavity. If necessary, we may recommend appropriate dental care to prevent or address any dental issues. At Healing Hands, we utilize state-of-the-art dental equipment, including a digital radiograph machine, to provide comprehensive dental care for your pet. Our services range from routine dental cleanings to pain-free tooth extractions and even soft tissue oral surgery. For more complex dental procedures like orthodontics or root canal therapy, we can refer you to a veterinary dentist who specializes in such treatments.

For pet owners, the thought of their beloved animal undergoing anesthesia can be anxiety-inducing.  We understand this concern, which is why we have implemented rigorous safety protocols to ensure that every pet is safe before, during, and after their general anesthesia procedure. Before the surgery, we require bloodwork to be done within 30 days of the procedure, an IV catheter to be placed, and your pet will receive perioperative pain medications. We utilize a multi-modal approach to anesthesia, which involves using smaller doses of several medications to achieve both anesthesia (loss of consciousness) and analgesia (pain control). This approach enables us to create an individualized anesthetic plan for each pet, ensuring their safety and comfort during the procedure. In addition, we use state-of-the-art monitoring equipment and anesthesia machines in our separate, sterile surgical suite. After the surgery, we monitor your pet in our main treatment room to ensure a safe and comfortable recovery. Our team keeps a close eye on your pet’s condition and provides immediate attention if any issues arise.
